There was an old topic on this, but since I redid stuff today and added spiffy-cool little clone images for each rank, I thought I'd make a new info post and sticky it.

Private Recruit: >=0 posts
Private: >=5 posts
Sergeant : >=25 posts
Lieutenant: >=100 posts
Captain: >=250 posts
Major: >=500 posts
Commander: >=1000 posts

Specifically, I added the new Private Recruit rank. This is for people with less than 5 posts and is designed to give me a bit of power to control new members in case they might be spambots. I am going to try to make it so they can't do certain things, like post attachments, images, or links. Real members shouldn't be at this rank for long anyways.

None of the other ranks have - or will have - any special privileges. They just show up under a member's name when he/she posts. Purely visual difference.

I also added the Major rank, since this actually exists in the Grand Army of the Republic, which the rest of the ranks are based on. This allowed me to mess around with the posting requirements a bit and give a better distribution.

Also I replaced the generic star images with colour-coded (by rank) clones. :D I will be making special images for mods (Senior Clone Commander) and admins (Clone Marshall Commander) later too. :)

first, i was assuming that because it seems accepted enough to be used by Amy on this forum, the orange Major armor was now accepted.  second, it only seems yellow-green because of the pixelation with the white.  if you look closely you can see it is just yellow

Yeah, well, I did a bit of reading and saw that orange was suggested as the colour for Major several times and since I needed a colour... I chose that. (It was either that or purple!) So no, it's not any more canon than before just because I needed a colour. :P

And yeah, Commander is supposed to be yellow. The problem is yellow's a light colour and it didn't show up very well, so I have to mess with the shade a bit. (Also - I made all those images in like 10 minutes, lol. I might try to fix the yellow one when I get a chance.)

Yeah, I hear ya. I'm still undecided about this, actually. I wanted to do something else other than colour/rank name to indicate which ranks were higher, but it does get a bit weird-looking with more than 5. (Especially since I changed the mod and admin stars to be 6 now, so we don't seem inferior, lol.) Hmm. I might change this later, I don't know.

...how about size of the helmet? larger for higher ranks...just an idea
