OOC: this will probably seem more of a fanfic by the time I'm done, but it should give a nice back-story to my character and the Quarian mission.

Time: Present day
Location: Quarian Migrant ship Tuuri, orbiting an uncharted world.

Cody'Rama walked through the ship with his datapad, scanning its content as he went.  The chief engineer wanted an check of the spare parts they had, and as his assistant it was up to Cody to find out.  Before leaving the Flotilla they took on extra supplies to support them on their extended journey, taking on more once they reached the Citadel, their original destination.

That is when the plan had changed.  New information came about, and the Captain took the decision to check out this information.  Now, a fuel line had ruptured and while it had been repaired, the Chief Engineer wasn't happy the repairs would remain in place.  It was a long walk each way through the twisting maze of corridors that made up a Quarian ship, and it gave Cody time to think.  His visit to the Citadel was still fresh in his mind.

Time: 5 days ago
Location: Citadel

C-Sec had spent close to a day and a half checking out the entire crew of the Tuuri since it had docked.  This was standard procedure, as most people didn't trust Quarians.  For most of the crew, a full list of checks had to be run, however Cody got off easy as the officer who was assigned to clear him was a Turian Cody had met during his
pilgrimage on the Turian homeworld.  This also allowed Cody to persuade the officer to try and get food donations for the Quarians to take back to the Flotilla.

Once everyone was cleared, they were finally free to leave the ship.  Cody and his partner started off by looking around the Wards by the C-Sec academy, where they had to go through coming from the ship.  After a day browsing the markets they headed off to a local bar named Flux.  They took a seat by the window, and soon a Volus came over to speak to them.

"Greetings, clan-less.  We don't get many of your kind here.  I'm Doran, owner of this club."
"Nice to meet you, Doran.  I'm Cody'Rama vas Tuuri and this is my wife Seel'Zhan vas Tuuri.  Our ship is here on a supply run, and we thought we'd drop in to rest our feet for a bit."
"I see.  Well, we have a fine selection of Turian drinks for you, they're all here on this menu."

After ordering drinks, the three continued talking for a while.  They talked about various things, from each others races to music.  Eventually, Doran came out with something that took Cody off guard.

"So, I presume the Migrant Fleet is preparing a strike force to get those Geth supposedly threatening the Asari homeworld."
"I'm sorry, but I don't know what you mean."
"Oh, I see.  If you watch the news reports later, I'm sure you will see the full story.  From what I understand it, someone leaked information to the media about a Geth force preparing to attack the Asari homeworld.  Several merchant ships have reported Geth sightings, and a couple have even been attacked."
"Keelah, we weren't aware of this.  Our ship was only to come here to pick up some of the harder to get items we need for the flotilla.  The Captain needs to hear this when we return."
"I'm surprised you clan-less didn't hear this sooner.  Do you think you will you be able to reach the fleet in-time to warn them?"
"I doubt it, they're in the Terminus systems right now.  We're much closer and would be better suited to respond, but even then we don't have many Marines on-board.  Even if we were to go there, I'm not sure how effective we'd be.  Keelah, this is such a shock.  I would love to sit and chat with you more, Doran, but this is something that needs addressing immediately.  Thank you for your service, and I'll be sure to recommend this place to the rest of the fleet."
"You're always welcome here, clan-less.  I hope to see more of your kind here in the future.  It's been a pleasure talking with you."

Once the bill had been paid, Cody and his wife quickly left to head back to the ship.  Cody used his Omni-tool to check the Captain was onboard, and once they reached the ship they headed straight for the Captains quarters where he was staying.  They told him of the conversation in Flux, and soon senior members of the crew were called up to the bridge to discuss what would happen next.  They decided that rather then try to contact the Flotilla and wait to see if a Marine task-force would be sent, the Tuuri would go instead and provide any assistance for the Council forces that would no doubt be on-scene.

Lux hated ships. So small and enclosing. But the worst part was not being able to control where he went. On land, if he wanted to go north, he went north, and nobody could stop him. On a ship, on this ship, some squishy Asari was piloting, and ultimately decided where to go. He wouldn't have accepted the job just for the amount of time needed to spend on a ship, but he had been stuck on Illium with no work. And he had kids to feed. His daughters were on Tuchunka. His ultimate goal was to get their mother and them off-world and somewhere nice. He was perhaps the only Krogan with such plans. The clans were being rallied, by a member of Urdnot no less, but that didn't change his plans. And the possible pay for this job was luticrive. When the asari needed muscle, they could really pay. And the prospect of a good fight was too hard to pass up. He just hoped they would get there soon. In the meantime, he would try and get some sleep sitting in the chair he was in. Only a few hours until they got to the citadel.

Alec slapped a new thermal clip into his rifle as he aimed down its 5x scope. The geth trooper he was sighting popped its long head up and took a disrupter ammo burst to its glowing blue eye. It fell to the ground as two more moved in to take its place.

"S***" Alec cursed as he dropped behind the rock he was taking cover behind. He and his unit of 4 other Alliance Marines had landed on some desert world no one had heard of about 30 mins ago after recieving a distress call from a downed civi transport. The Alliance ship SSV Agincourt, a frigate, was deployed to the system and Alec and his squad landed here by shuttle. They almost immdeiatly got ambushed by geth snipers and flanked by troops. One of his guys were down and bleeding out. They needed to get him out fast.

Alec stood and torn up and geth that got too close. Its chest armor exploded into sparks.

Pulling his men back to the shuttle landing site that was in a hidden outcrop of rocks that surrounded the shuttle on three sides, Alec ordered them in and that they would try to escape and hope the geth hadn't and AA defenses. Loading his wounded man on the small ship they shut the Kodiak shuttles door and had the pilot burn sky to orbit where the Agincourt sat waiting. They made it through the hailstorm of geth ground fire, landed in the frigates landing bay and Alec went straight to the forward battery.

"Eye, blow those bastards to hell" He gave the gunnery officer the firing coordinates and watched him go to work. after confiming with the commander the SSV Agincourt fired several Mass Accelerator rounds to the worlds surface, obliterating the geth force. After a quick mop up by another squad the frigate jumped through the Mass Relays to Arcturus Station.

OOC: Hm.. Maybe somehow their presence was noted and they were each contacted individually ( or through someone else, like say having a message relayed through a.. higher ranking officer ) to meet up at the Citadel? The details on the meeting would be very sketchy because the Council wouldn't want to reveal themselves just yet. Once they were all there, then the Council would reveal their interest in them and blah blah blah task squad idea suggested blah blah blah everyone agrees for possible personal interests blah blah blah task squad formed blah blah blah they probably get a ship.

How does that sound? XD

OOC:Yes Oronk. And I don't think that would work, especially for the quarians. And Lux is supposidly on the ship taking the task force to the Geth planet. The main problem is the marines. Could they prehapse be re-tasked to support the task-force? If we want the task-force members could have a flash-back to the meeting where they got the job. What do you lot think?

OOC: My guy's a freelancer. He wouldn't be reassigned since he flies solo. I suppose he could be under contract by the Alliance.. But why are they going to a Geth Planet? Geth don't really have planets anyways. Unless you're referring to the Base on the uncharted world. Anyways.. i spose that could work for my guy, but you need to check with the others.

OOC: I thought the story we agreed was that the Geth were making a base on an uncharted world (which turns out to be multiple bases on multiple worlds in the area) near to the Asari homeworld and the Council was sending a taskforce to neutralise it, with the Quarians also going to investigate on their own.

OOC: That's what I had in mind. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't have it in mind to just start off this role play by getting to shooting. That's no fun. I was thinking everyone, minus the Quarians, would end up being recruited for a multi-species task force by the Council as planned by Flyboy and such. Which is why I mentioned the whole.. contacted individually bit. I think it would be rather interesting to see everyone's first impressions of each other rather than, like I said before, jump right into the action.

OOC: In the meantime, I'll continue my characters story.

Cody was nearly back in engineering when all the lights went out.  Cody suddenly felt weightless too, and then he realised what had just happened.

"Keelah!  The generators gone!"

A few seconds later emergency power kicked in and brought the lights and other critical systems back online.  The gravity remained off as the emergency generator could only power so much.  The Tuuri was a very old ship, nearly 250 years old, and it was a miracle it had managed to get them to the Citadel without breaking.  Now though, it seemed like everything was going wrong.

When Cody got back into engineering he saw everyone rushing about trying to find the exact cause of the problem.  The Chief Engineer came up to him and Cody handed over the datapad containing an inventory of the spare parts.  He then selected a few of the items on the list and steadied himself on the wall as he turned up to look at Cody.

"Take a couple of people with you and fetch these items for me.  From what we can tell this is going to be a big job as the problem could cascade if we don't fix it fast."

Cody got a couple of nearby engineers to come with him and soon they were at the storage locker where the spare parts were kept.  They grabbed what they needed and hurried back to help fix the problem.  No matter what the cause of the problem was, Cody knew they were in for a long day trying to fix it, if it could even be fixed in a day.

Lux awoke as the docking sequence began. He stood up and streched his muscles. He was technically supposed to stay where he was, but he was a krogan, and he was going to watch. He walked through a small crowd of asari passangers. He made his way to the bridge of the transport ship. The asari crew gave Lux looks, but knew better than to possibly anger a krogan in such a confined space. The fact that Lux was much taller and bigger than the average krogan, and had 2 shotguns only helped.

OOC: Spectres work on their own, save for Commander Shepard. My opinion is no, but ask the others. Plus.. A spectre is kinda overkill. They're supposed to be the best of the best, and if they're the best of the best, I'd consider that veryyyy close to making your character too powerful.

This is a council task-force, so they would send a Specter to watch over it. And besides, there are turian specters up the wazoo, so not all of them will be super-powerful.
