I made a discovery!
« on: November 29, 2011, 05:21:54 PM »
Okay, so you know the "Arena A17" multiplayer map? I was reading the description yesterday, and...

Arena A17 is the Killing House mentioned in the novels! Read the description; it says "...referred to by the commandos as the Killing House..."

Sa-weet! 8)

You already knew?
I did.  Noticed it right away.
But that was totally my reaction when I read that, too.  I was like "OMFG OSSUM!!" as soon as I saw Killing House.

I made a discovery! You know Sun Facs fighter? Well, a part in the middle is a DC. I captured the image in trying to find secrets in Ghost mode.

I hadn't. I was trying to see if there was anything on or behind the fighter, and I found a DC-17 blaster.

I know, right? I didn't find anything else on that level, but there are plenty of strange things you can find in Ghost mode on all the levels.

It's probably either an element a Dev left there by accident, or a quick fix to hold the geometry of the ship together.

Could also be some kind of marker for Sev's scripted takedown of the ship.  I don't know why it'd be a DC-17 there instead of like...a little dot or something, but they probably didn't expect anybody to bother looking in there.

I guess the same holds true with video games as it does in building. You take the time to look behind the walls, you find all kinds of weird stuff. Having wandered around a lot of partially-constructed buildings with my dad, we usually find a lot to make us laugh. Once we found that an in-wall cabinet assembly with being propped into the right place with a Mountain Dew can. And doing very nicely, thank you very much.

Well, considering the off-topic tailspin this thread took, I'd say it's probably half-passed dead now. :P

Does this count as a discovery?

We all suck at keeping things on topic.

I think it just comes down to the fact that this wasn't much of a topic to begin with.  Something weird was found...people commented on it...people say what other things they found...those are commented on...and then there's not much else to say.  So we stretch out in weird directions. lolz

When I can spare the 20$ for the bundle with RC, the entire game is going to be a discovery.

Really I just want to be scorch. In general.
