There is an interview up on YouTube with Dave Filoni talking about some of the people working on the project as well.

Essentially, it sounds like The Clone Wars set in the early Rebellion era (pre-Episode IV).

Hmmm! Sounds interesting! I'm glad they're returning to the OT conflict, I always liked the era a little better for some reason.

More details have just emerged on this.  Its been confirmed that it's set between Episode III and IV, and it is being made by Lucasfilm Animation.  Its also been announced that it will debut as a 1 hour special on the Disney channel late next year, followed by a series on the Disney XD channels around the world.  Oh, and those of us going to Celebration Europe II will get to see an exclusive first lookl! :D

I hope this series continues the tales of Bo-Katan vs. Death Watch, so that doesn't end in a permanent cliffhanger.

That would be nice, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Yeah, I know. It's extremely unlikely, but I remain...not exactly hopeful, but hoping.

My guess is that the OT rebellion vs empire was a conflict that had some purpose; the fight against oppression.  We can get behind that intellectually and emotionally.

They have set up the Clone Wars as a all-around useless fight; no one actually wins; not the republic...not the separatists.  It's all just a big false flag operation.  The viewers are 'in' on the secret, so it ultimately seems to make it all so much more...pointless.
